Laura Whitmore took to the red carpet at the 2020 BRIT Awards tonight, her first public appearance since the death of her good friend, Caroline Flack.
Laura has been back and forth to South Africa in recent weeks for presenting duties on Love Island – a role she took over from Caroline last year.
Caroline had become best known as the show’s host since its relaunch in 2015, but stepped down following her arrest in December, saying in a statement, “Love Island has been my world for the last five years, it’s the best show on telly. In order to not detract attention from the upcoming series I feel the best thing I can do is to stand down for series six.”
But news broke this weekend of Caroline’s tragic death by suspected suicide, and tributes have since poured in from her many celebrity friends.

"Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this dreadful time.
"Caroline and me were together from the very start of Love Island. Her passion, warmth and infectious enthusiasm are a crucial part of what made the show connect with millions of viewers.
"Like many of you, we're still trying to come to terms with what's happened. My only hope is that we can try and be kinder, always show love and listen to one another.”
Laura walked the BRITs red carpet alone this evening with Iain remaining in South Africa to record.
ITV is expected to pay tribute to Caroline during tonight’s prestigious awards ceremony.
