Kym, 39, confessed that an obsessed fan continues to set up social media profiles claiming to be her – and even her 17-year-old daughter Emilie has been targeted.

Speaking to The Sun on Sunday, Coronation Street star Kym said: “The thought that someone pretending to be me or my children may be persuading people to try and meet up with them horrifies me.

“I just want this person to stop now before they end up in trouble or do something they regret. It may seem harmless but there’s a whole sinister side to it.”

Kym was only made aware of the person masquerading as her last month, when she received a bunch of flowers on the set of Corrie last month.

They came with a note saying, ‘Sorry you couldn’t make our date’ – and were sent by someone who believed they’d been talking to Kym online since November 2008.

But things took a chilling turn when mum-of-three Kym received another bouquet – this time to her home.

The former Hear’Say singer revealed that she was shocked to learn that what the impersonator is doing isn’t actually illegal.

She added: “I was freaked out. You shouldn’t be scared in your own home – but I genuinely was and so were my family.”
