Kym Marsh, who has three children from previous relationships, cannot have any more babies following an ablation womb - a procedure to permanently remove a thin tissue layer of the lining of the uterus - after severe health problems.
However the 38-year-old is still hoping to have a child with fiancé Dan Hooper. whom has a four-year-old daughter, Lexi, with his ex Stephanie Waring.
"Dan and I would like to have a child together"
And the soapstar has now revealed that they are now considering adoption.
She told the Sunday Mirror: “I’m so lucky. I’ve got three beautiful children.
"Dan has also got a little girl. She is beautiful and very much a part of our family.
"[But] Dan and I would like to have a child together."
Kym continued: "Sadly, I can't have any more children, but we could adopt. It's wonderful to give a child a home, and it would be a very loving home."
The couple, who became engaged in December, have already forged a tight-knit family together with their respective children.
The former Hear’Say singer said Polly, 3, and Dan’s daughter Lexi, 4, are “like best friends” because they’re similar in age.
She also said Dan and her 19-year-old son David are really good mates.
The 38-year-old said: "They get on very well.
"My David, my son, and Dan, are very good mates. They'll go out and have a drink together and everything!"
Kym, who is also mum to 17-year-old daughter Emilie, added firmly: "We're very much a family unit."
