The 45-year-old told Alan Carr that when she leapt onto scene, back in 1987 with her cover of Locomotion, she didn’t know that it would propel her to stardom.

She said: “It just stuns me, I was probably supposed to be a one-hit-wonder and managed to make a life and career out of that.”

The Can’t Get You Out Of My Head singer has now sold over 68 million records worldwide, been on 14 tours and has released 12 albums.

The interview, which airs tonight at 10pm on Channel 4, sees Kylie also talking about her big move to Jay Z’s record label, Roc Nation.

“I had an epiphany, a proper true epiphany and my vision was just the horizon with nothing on it,” she told Alan.

“So I didn’t know where I was going, who I was going with, all I knew was that I had to make some big changes. Like being a grown up and making a big change… Which was partly responsible for me doing The Voice.

“I couldn’t bring myself to do those kind of things before and I just thought I’m doing everything a bit differently now … so try it.”
