The difficult situation between Kyle Walker’s wife of two years, Annie Kilner, and influencer Lauryn Goodman – with whom he has fathered two children – could soon play out on an international level should both mothers decide to support the England footballer at the 2024 UEFA Euros next month.
And now the drama has taken an unexpected twist as an insider tells Closer that Kyle’s family have made it clear that they want everyone to play happy families in front of the cameras.
It had been reported that England bosses are planning on preventing Lauryn, 33, from attending England’s football matches with her and Kyle’s son Kairo, amid fears that her presence could prove a hindrance.
While it was reported that “any distraction will be totally clamped down on”, sources tell Closer that England bosses rarely get involved with any private matters, especially when they include the players’ children. Everyone wants England to do well and nobody feels Kyle’s kids would be a distraction. In fact, Kyle’s family are actually keen to see Lauryn, Kairo and his little sister pitch-side this summer.
The source tells Closer, “Kyle’s family are excited for Lauryn and the kids to go to the Euros. Lauryn had mentioned it to them last year and they were thrilled. They’re over the moon that their family finally have a girl as previously they only had boys. They’re smitten.”
There was a surprising amount of secrecy surrounding the birth of Lauryn’s daughter – whose name has not been publicly announced, but is thought to begin with the letter K – in August 2023. However, it was revealed – allegedly without Lauryn’s knowledge or consent – that both the newborn and her four-year-old son, Kairo, shared the same father. In January it was confirmed that Kyle, 33, was the dad.
The news broke almost simultaneously with Annie’s Instagram announcement stating, “Sadly, after many years of marriage and three wonderful children together, I have decided to take some time away from Kyle.”
Kyle and Annie welcomed sons Roman, 11, Riaan, seven, and Reign, five, before tying the knot in 2022, and the model, now 30, was pregnant with their fourth at the time of their split. Annie gave birth to her and Kyle’s youngest son – thought to be called Rezon – last month.
And with Annie and their four children set to follow Kyle around Europe for the Euros, she’s seemingly made it clear that she has sided with the England bosses and doesn’t want Lauryn to attend. We’re told, “It’s obviously a very sore subject for Annie and she tries to pretend they don’t exist. It makes it easier to carry on her life with Kyle.”
Kyle’s family, however, take a different view and believe that supporting Kyle could be the perfect way for the pair to bond.
The insider continues, “They don’t want any of the children to miss out on Kyle’s achievements and believe Kyle should be a part of all of the children’s lives just like his dad was to his children. The adults need to just make it work.”
