After her shock revelation in the Celebrity Big Brother house that she is expecting her first child with Ben Cohen, Kristina Rihanofff has further opened up about the pregnancy.
Speaking of the news, the 38-year-old spoke to Hello! Magazine, revealing:
“It was a surprise but I am obviously delighted.
“My mother was with me over Christmas and when we found out she put her arms around me and she cried with joy.
“It is her lifelong dream for me to have a child and it was lovely to see her so happy.”
The dancer also talked about her decision to leave the dancing show that put her in the public eye.
She told Hello! that the entire situation was “bittersweet” as she after eight years of being a part of the Saturday night TV phenomenon, the end was difficult and left her unhappy.
“It's very intense and it's worth it if you feel like you are fulfilling yourself as an artist….I think I am on a new path.”
The first time mum-to-be said: “I can't say I'm not nervous. But I'm very excited about the future.”
In the big brother house, Kristina has complained over the last few days of feeling homesick.
After being saved from eviction, she said while she was happy, that “it also makes me feel very homesick, there's only that staircase that separates me from my loved ones” such as partner Ben.
And last week, we saw that Ben Cohen’s ex-wife Abigail plans to begin a fresh new chapter in 2016, as Kristina Rihanoff drops pregnancy bombshell on CBB 2016.
During her first week in the house, Kristina Rihanoff dropped a pregnancy bombshell on her fellow CBB housemates (and viewers at home!).
She told them: “There was something [that] happened in my life before I came into the house over Christmas.
"And obviously I thought it’s very private news, you know but because we are living as one family now and everybody is sort of supporting one another now.
"It happened to be that I found that my boyfriend and I are going to have a little one."
Kristina then went on to reveal that she is three months pregnant with Ben Cohen’s baby.
Just one week before the VERY public baby announcement, Ben’s ex-wife Abby shared an emotional and inspiring post on Twitter.
Explaining that she finally feels ready to move on from her ‘year of hell’, she wrote: “This year for me has taught me more than I ever knew I could know!
“What happens to people throughout life changes you… For good or for bad, no one can deny that experiences change the way you think, the way you feel and the way you grow as a person.
"Better late than never to find out but it’s true how the saying goes, what doesn’t kill you only makes you stronger…
“I am stronger in a way where respect, caring, loving and being appreciated is key and I unfortunately now don’t tolerate those who don’t have the same attitude towards me."
She finished powerfully: “So here’s to a great new year of happiness, a fresh new chapter, new beginnings, new love! New everything! I’m really looking forward to where the new year is going to take me in every aspect of life.
“My job, my family, my friends… and who knows, maybe Cupid will aim his arrow my way!”
It remains unclear as to whether or not Abigail, who is the mother of Ben’s twin daughters, was aware of Kristina’s pregnancy before she wrote the post.
Ben and Abigail, who were teenage sweethearts, announced they were splitting in September 2014 - less than a year after he appeared alongside Kristina on Strictly Come Dancing.
Abigail previously hinted that an affair between Ben and Kristina had been the cause of their separation.
She said: “My husband who I was with for 23 years and unconditionally loved and was completely loyal to in every respect had left me for a f***ing Russian dancer.
“The last two years have been the most traumatic thing that has ever happened to me.
"He’s done the dirty on me and I want people to know.”
However both Ben and the dancing star have denied claims that they had any kind of romantic relationship before his marriage was over.
And, speaking before she entered the house, Kristina hinted that she was unhappy that she had been dogged by affair rumours - and that she would be putting a few things straight during her time on Celebrity Big Brother.
She said: Kristina added: “If it was up to me it would never be how it turned out.
"But people will see I am sensitive and kind and I like being around nice people.
"I don’t like confrontation but I will stand up for myself or others who have been mistreated.”
