The trailer for House Of Kardashian, the upcoming documentary charting the lives and fame of the reality TV family, dropped earlier this month, unveiling Caitlyn Jenner as one of the contributors.
And insiders tell Closer that Caitlyn’s appearance in the Sky docu-series has prompted the wrath of her estranged wife, Kris Jenner.
The trailer sees Caitlyn, 73 – who was born Bruce Jenner before she came out as a trans woman in April 2015 – claim that stepdaughter Kim Kardashian “calculated from the beginning: ‘How do I become famous?’” And after the former Olympian also let out what appeared to be a sarcastic laugh after being asked what it was like to work with Kris, a source says that the momager sees no way past this.
“Kris is convinced Caitlyn is being vindictive and doing this out of spite because she wasn’t included in their new show [The Kardashians]. Kris is furious, she’s had it to the back teeth with Caitlyn’s drama and betrayal. She’s talking seriously about totally ghosting Caitlyn from here on out and wants everyone in the family to follow suit,” an insider reveals. “It’s sealed her status as a traitor in Kris’ eyes. Kim, Khloé and others in the family are all in agreement with their mum – and even Kendall and Kylie are shocked.”
The relationship between Caitlyn – who is also step mum to Kourtney and Khloé, and mum to Kendall and Kylie – and the rest of her family has often been strained. Tensions spanning the years have seen Kim label Caitlyn a “liar” and “not a good person” over her 2017 memoir, The Secrets Of My Life, while Khloé previously took issue with how Caitlyn slammed Kris, 67, in her 2015 interview with Vanity Fair, where she accused her ex-wife of “mistreating” her and being “controlling” throughout their 23-year marriage.
Then, last year during an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Caitlyn once again implied that the rift had not been mended, saying during an interview about Kylie’s son that she has to be “careful” when talking about the family. But insiders insist Caitlyn stands by her decision to star in the three-part series and does not deem herself to have done anything wrong.
The source says, “Cait’s been a major outsider for years now. It’s eaten away at her and it’s a big reason why she chose to be interviewed. She’s insisting that she didn’t divulge anything they haven’t shared so there shouldn’t be any issue.”
Two people who are suffering though, are Kendall and Kylie, with the siblings said to be feeling torn.
The source says, “They’re appalled that Caitlyn would take part in this documentary, but they’re also not ready to cut her out of their lives. A lot of tears have been shed because they are grieving the end of any chance at spending time all together ever again. It feels like the end.”
