The ‘momager’ and Bruce Jenner have been married for 22 years and have two children together but insist they are “much happier this way”.
Speaking to a US magazine, 57-year-old Kris’ sister Karen, 54, said: “You know what drives Kris? Power, power, power and money. It’s called wanting power, Gucci purses, Bentleys, all the things I don’t care about that she does.”
Karen, a nurse based in San Diego, said that a reason behind this could be childhood issues about her looks, money and her late father.
She said:” If something is upsetting you, you are either going to hit the bottle, do drugs, go to the gym constantly, or you are going to work.
“It’s an addiction and it’s because you are unhappy. You do these things because there’s a hole that’s not filled.”
Kris, mother to Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian and Kylie and Kendall Jenner, is worth a reported $80,000 and Karen called her a “workaholic” and a “hustler”.
A source told the same magazine that Kris’ workaholic lifestyle has caused problems between her and the children.
They said: “She’s thinking about the fame first- not about being a mom.”
Khloe Kardashian claimed in June that her mother and step-father were living in separate homes but insisted they did not have problems.
But, after it was announced this week that the pair were in fact divorcing, they put out a statement in which they said:
“We will always have much love and respect for each other. Even though we are separated, we will always remain best friends and, as always, our family will remain number one priority.”
