As Kylie Jenner continues to keep her relationship with Hollywood star Timothée Chalamet under wraps, much to her mum Kris’ dismay, the momager already has another target for a high-profile romance in her sights – daughter Khloé Kardashian.
Khloé, who recently celebrated her 40th birthday, has been single since splitting from basketball star Tristan Thompson, with whom she shares six-year-old daughter True and son Tatum, one. But once she starts dating again, sources tell Closer that Kris, 68, is intent on having a say in her love life.
“Kris has set out a new rulebook for Khloé to adhere to when she bags her next boyfriend – and she isn’t holding back!” the insider says. “Knowing the importance of not only having a famous partner but of monopolising on that, she’s given Khloé strict instructions to ensure she follows in the footsteps of Kim, who reached new levels of fame and success with Kanye West.
“It includes only dating high-profile men who are A-list or at least connected in the A-list world, avoiding sports stars, attending every public party and event and having a three-month limit before going public with the romance.”
While Kris would love Kylie to flaunt her relationship with Dune star Timothée, the 26-year-old has been keeping her latest romance private. The couple, who started dating last year, were recently seen on a low-key cinema date, six months after they were photographed at the Golden Globes.
Khloé’s on/off relationship with Tristan was marred by cheating scandals over the five years they were together. They split for good in December 2021, when paternity results showed that the athlete had fathered a child with personal trainer Maralee Nichols while he was with Khloé. “I take full responsibility for my actions,” he later said.
Reality TV star and fashion designer Khloé revealed that she’s “ready” to find love again earlier this year, despite her ex saying that he wants her back. “My goal is to have my family back as a whole unit,” he told her sister Kourtney on the fourth series of The Kardashians.
And our insider reveals that, despite Khloé’s doubts about her mum having a big say over her personal issues, she’s willing to go along with her plans.
“Khloé’s understandably been surprised by Kris trying to take the reins over her love life, but her sisters have urged her to listen – insisting their mum knows what she’s doing, not to mention the fact her love life has been a disaster up until now,” the source adds.
“Khloé doesn’t want to feel forced into a relationship, but Kris has assured her she won’t make her pursue something that doesn’t feel right and that, ultimately, she just wants to help her maximise the potential her next relationship can give her.
“Kris has told Khloé that after all the heartache she’s been through, allowing her to take the reins will help her avoid past mistakes and find the right man who can not only give her the happily ever after she’s been searching for, but also propel her career and profile at the same time.”
