They’ve barely been seen without each other since they went public in January 2021 – and last week Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker officially tied the knot.
The eldest of the Kardashian/Jenner brood, Kourtney, 43, donned a skimpy white Dolce and Gabbana frock to marry the Blink 182 drummer, 46, in a Santa Barbara courthouse ceremony, with her grandmother, Mary Jo, aka ‘MJ’, and Travis’ father, Randy, by their sides. Afterwards, they posed for photos, before driving off in a classic black convertible, complete with a “Just Married” sign.
The snaps came after reports the wedding was filmed for the family’s new flagship reality show on Hulu – a move insiders say shows just how settled Kourtney is feeling. The mum of three famously took a step back from the family’s hit show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, in 2020 to spend more time with her children, amid rising tensions with her sisters, Kim, 41, and Khloé, 37.
Kourtney – who shares Mason, 12, Penelope, nine, and Reign, seven, with ex Scott Disick, 38 – made no secret of her desire to retreat from the spotlight, and things reached boiling point during a series of explosive rows played out on their long-running E! show.
But now sources say her romance with Travis – who shares three children with his ex-wife, Shanna Moakler – has sparked a change of heart.
“Travis is extremely calm and chilled,” says the source. “He’s had a profound effect on Kourt and has made her more settled, content and at ease with every aspect of her life. Their romance has sparked a huge change in her – she’s much happier, and that’s alleviated her anxieties about being in the spotlight. She wants to shout about their love.”
Last month, Kourtney revealed how her final years on KUWTK became “really toxic.”
“I was feeling unfulfilled and it became a toxic environment for me to continue to have it occupy as much of my life as it was,” she said. “Privacy is something I have come to value, and finding that balance of private moments with being on a reality show is hard.”
But months later she fell in love with long-time friend Travis, and now insiders say the couple are planning a lavish star-studded wedding party, which Kourtney hopes could lead to their own spin-off show.
The source says, “While Kourtney and Travis loved their simple wedding, they’re also planning a spectacle, true Kardashian-style. They’re hoping to celebrate with all their loved ones, including their children, this summer – with Kourt enlisting the help of celebrity event planner, Mindy Weiss. It will be hosted at her ‘momager’ Kris Jenner’s Palm Springs estate, but she’s hoping for a casual vibe – despite setting a £500k budget.
“Travis will perform alongside his pal, rapper Machine Gun Kelly. She’d like to land their own spin-off show, which will help push her lifestyle brand, Poosh, to the next level too.”
The first episode of the Kardashians’ new Hulu show – which aired last month – documented Kourtney and Travis’ IVF journey. The emotional star revealed how the medication sparked menopausal symptoms, as she tearfully opened up about being trolled over her weight gain.
But insiders hope their quickie wedding could signal that Kourtney is expecting. The source adds, “Their nuptials have naturally set tongues wagging. Kourt has finally found her happily ever after, and she can’t wait to become a mum again and start their new lives together as Mr and Mrs Barker.”
