The Girls Aloud gave birth to baby Bobby last month, but underestimated how uncomfortable breastfeeding can be.
She told a UK magazine: “I’ve always thought breast-feeding would be the easiest thing in the world and it's only when you speak to other people who tell you they also found it painful and hard that you realise it's not just you.”
Despite knowing that she wasn’t alone in her suffering, the 32-year-old felt ‘distressed’ that she was finding it hard to feed her son.
She said: "You imagine it will be the most natural thing in the world, but more often than not it doesn't come naturally to either you or the baby!

"It can be quite distressing when it's not working, but we've definitely cracked it now and it continually gets easier."
Though motherhood is a challenge for anyone, Kimberley says she has never been happier since she and partner Justin Scott became parents.
She said: "I sometimes just look at Bobby and I’m overcome with emotion as I just love him so much – I’m so happy with my family – my two boys.”
