They’ve been together for nearly 14-years – but Kimberley Walsh and Justin Scott finally said ‘I do’ at the weekend.
Former Girls Aloud singer Kimberley, 34, and 33-year-old Justin walked down the aisle in front off 100 close friends and family members – including their 15-month-old son Bobby – in stunning Barbados.
The couple first fell in love with the Caribbean island three years ago, when they travelled there following Kimberley’s time on Strictly Come Dancing.
Speaking to Hello! magazine, she said: "We absolutely loved it. It’s such a friendly country and so chilled. We started talking kind of loosely along the lines of, ‘If we got married, wouldn’t it be great to do it here…’”
Kimberley and former Triple 8 singer Justin returned to the Island when Bobby was just a few months old, after he’d proposed, and their idea started to take shape.
But they were conscious about asking their loved ones to fly so far for their wedding, and wanted to make it worth the trip.
So they spread the celebrations out over three days, and Kimberley continued: “When you’ve asked people to travel so far, you want to spread it out over a few days and we felt [a welcome party] was the perfect way for people to get to know one another before the wedding itself and get into a nice, relaxed frame of mind – hopefully without getting too carried away.”
Cheryl Fernandez-Versini, Nicola Roberts, Denise Van Outen and Kelli Young were among the celebrities in attendance, and Cheryl later gushed over her best friend’s little boy.
Discussing the prospect of seeing him in his little pageboy’s outfit, Cheryl, 32, said: “Oh my goodness, Bobby. That little boy just gets me anyway. He’s so adorable and content. The whole day is going to be so moving.”
