Whilst many new mothers are happy to focus on the new addition to their family, the reality star reportedly felt under pressure to get her famous body back to its pre-baby state.
Speaking on The Tonight show with Jay Leno show last night, the 33-year-old admitted:
'I can honestly say it was the greatest challenge of my life.'
Speaking about the criticism she received while pregnant, the newly engaged Kardashian revealed:
'It really hurt my soul.
'It changed how I am in public. I've tried to live more of a private life.'
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star, who gave birth to daughter North West in June, explained that she had suffered from a rare condition, which she said was responsible for making her more bloated during pregnancy.
The life-threatening condition preeclampsia, led to her five-week premature delivery.
Kim, who got engaged to boyfriend of 1 year Kanye West on her 33rd birthday last week, added:
'Actually I got on the scale today and it said that I am 50lbs down. That made me so excited.'
The second eldest Kardashian credits the weight loss to following the Atkins diet.
Speaking about her time away from the limelight with young Nori, she said:
'I just wanted to have time with her and be with her. This was the one time in life that I could just take off and spend time as a family with me, and him and the baby. So we both took a maternity leave.'
And the new mother can't get enough of her first born.
'She never cries,' Kim said of the four-month-old.
'She's a perfect little angel. I hope she grows up to be smart and opinionated like her dad.'
Speaking about her wedding plans she said they were hoping for next summer 'someplace Parisian', adding:
'I want [Kanye] to have whatever he wants.'
And Kim confirmed she will be ditching her (famous) surname.
'It'll definitely be West.
'My daughter's name is West, and we're a family,'she concluded.
