Rob, 28, has completely withdrawn from the public eye over the past year, and some have suggested being a part of the ‘Kardashian circus’ is to blame for his social anxiety.

But Kim, 34, thinks there’s much more to it. Appearing on the Today show, she said: “I don’t necessarily think it’s because of the fame. I think it’s been circumstances in his life that he just hasn’t really dealt with.

“Whether it’s, you know, the loss of our father, or certain breakups, or, you know, he was extremely close to Lamar and when, you know, Khloe and him broke up, that was really hard on him. So I think it was a couple of things.”

Rob’s family has confirmed he is struggling with depression, after piling on a reported 100lbs, and Kim insisted he’s getting his life back on track.

She continued: “I think he’s just going through a phase where he’s not comfortable in his own skin.

“And he is working really hard to get back to where he wants to be.”

Despite clearly having his own issues to work through, Rob took to Twitter last week to praise his stepfather Bruce Jenner, who confirmed he is now living as a woman.

Rob wrote: “You have always been a role model to me and now more than ever, I look up to you. LOVE YOU!”
