'All I care about is my family, protecting my girl, protecting my dreams'
Kanye, 36, recently took offense at a skit on Jimmy’s show that made fun of one of his recent interviews, tweeting the 45 year-old TV host that he was ‘out of line.’
Yesterday, Kanye appeared as a guest on Jimmy Kimmel Live to confront the host over the feud, arriving at the TV in a dramatic black Lamborghini joined by baby-mama Kim and little North.
However, fans who expected fireworks were left disappointed when the pair appeared to clear the air.
But while Jimmy did apologise to Kanye, telling him: ‘I really felt bad about the whole thing,’ he did his best to question the rapper’s much criticized self-regard.
'A lot of people think you're a jerk,' he said.
But there was no apology from his guest, who described himself as ‘a genius.’
‘For me, I'm a creative genius and there's no other way to word it. I know you're not supposed to say that about yourself, but my intention's always positive. It's bigger than who I am in my presence, living...' he said.
The new father added that his girlfriend Kim and baby North are now his sole focus in life now, saying: ‘In all honesty, all I care about is my family, protecting my girl, protecting my dreams.'
When questioned on his description of himself as a 'genius' – a statement which Kimmel said 'upsets people', Kanye again shrugged off the criticism.
'I'm weird and I'm inappropriate sometimes, but if I didn't say it I would be lying to myself,' he responded.
Later in the interview, Kanye went on a series of rants in which he addressed the fashion industry, the civil rights movement, and the nature of celebrity; amongst other subjects.
The interview is not yet available in video form.
