It appears the Strictly curse has struck again as the dance pros Kevin and Karen Clifton have called time on their three-year marriage after a turbulent few months
Strictly Come Dancing professional dancers Kevin Clifton and wife Karen are reported to be divorcing after months of speculation about their relationship status. It’s thought that Kevin instigated the split despite a devastated Karen “pleading” for them to make things work.
“Karen is extremely upset about the whole situation and is really struggling to accept that everything is over. She has been pleading with Kevin to give things another go but he’s made it clear that he’s not interested and doesn’t want them to patch things up. He has definitely been the driving force behind them getting a divorce and surprisingly doesn’t seem as fussed as you might expect,” a source told The Sun.

The pair have been plagued by split rumours since Karen was spotted on a day out in London’s Primrose Hill with accountant Stuart Wood at the end of the last year. Kevin was reported to be “heartbroken” at the time, with an insider telling the MailOnline, “It’s making it very difficult at Strictly as all the dancers knew but Kevin did not want to accept that his marriage is over.”
Kevin has since been spotted without his wedding ring and even spent Christmas apart from Karen, after she flew to New York to be with her family and he remained in the UK.
Kevin’s former Strictly partner Louise Redknapp suffered her own relationship problems after appearing on the show and split from husband Jamie last year. She’s since made a comeback to music and recently embarked on a UK tour, hiring Kevin as her official choreographer.
The pair, who came second in the 2016 Strictly series, have been spotted together several times over the past few months and it’s thought they’ve been supporting each other with their marriage woes.
