The Tik Tok singer claims the abuse she suffered at the hands of top music producer Dr Luke led to her two month rehab stay earlier this year.
According to the lawsuit, which entertainment site TMZ has obtained, Kesha alleges to have been abused by Dr Luke since the age of 18, and his abuse was both physical and emotional.
Kesha claims the producer forced himself upon her after making her take drugs and drink with him on a plane ride, and that she once woke up naked in his bed after taking unidentified drugs.
The 27-year-old star is asking the judge to release her from her contract with him, after what the lawsuit describes as years of manipulation.
Her lawyer Mark Geragos told TMZ: ‘This lawsuit is a wholehearted effort by Kesha to regain control of her music career and her personal freedom after suffering for ten years as a victim of mental manipulation, emotional abuse and an instance of sexual assault at the hands of Dr Luke.’
‘The facts presented in our lawsuit paint a picture of a man who is controlling and willing to commit horrible acts of abuse in an attempt to intimidate an impressionable, talented, young female artist into submission for his personal gain.’
Dr Luke has not commented on the lawsuit as of yet.
