Dr Stephen Hamilton, who reduced the 28-year-olds breast size from a 34GG to a 34DD, has spoken out about the dangerous effects the habit could have on Kerry's health after she confessed that she is still smoking on ITV's This Morning.
The surgeon explained that smoking reduces the oxygen supply in the skin, which is vital for a full recovery from injuries or surgery wounds.
He said: "I've never seen a nipple turn black or fall off, but it has happened. It's a good scare tactic."
Kerry Katona felt that her breasts needed work after giving birth to her children.
The former Atomic Kitten worked as a glamour model before her popstar days.
Not only does Kerry's smoking habit risk her losing her nipples and making a full recovery from surgery, but she also risks cancer and heart disease.
Smoking also reduces the elasticity in the skin, making it more prone to wrinkles, which could lead to more painful procedures to remedy.
Hopefully Kerry can kick the habit and notice a vast improvement to her health.
