In a candid confession to her fans on social media, Kerry Katona has revealed she’s set to go back under the knife to fix her nose after revealing her past cocaine addiction has caused it to collapse, like her pal, Danniella Westbrook’s.

Opening up to her 895k Instagram followers last week, Kerry, 42, revealed how a doctor recommended the procedure after inspecting her damaged nose during a consultation for an eye-lift.

In videos posted on her Instagram stories, the mum-of-five – who’s undergone a series of cosmetic surgery procedures over the years – said, “I was offered to get it fixed years ago and I said no, because for me it was a reminder never to touch it [drugs] again. So he said, Do you want us to fix it for you?’ And I started crying because it’s a massive 360 of where I was to where I am now. And I think, “Wow, wow, wow. OK, I’ll get it fixed’.”

And a source tells Closer the new work is all part of Kerry’s “celebration” of having turned her life around so dramatically. They reveal, “This is something Kerry’s wanted to do for along time, and while she’s understandably nervous, she’s ready to finally rid herself of any physical reminders of the worst time in her life and celebrate how far she’s come.”

Kerry – who shockingly revealed how her mum, Sue, tricked her into taking drugs when she was just 14 years old by pretending that amphetamines were sherbert – has previously confessed how she “literally died” following an overdose at the height of her cocaine addiction.

“I shouldn’t be here,” she said in an interview.

“I should be dead. If it wasn’t for my kids, I think I would be.”

The former singer – who shot to fame with Atomic Kitten in the ’90s – admitted she used drugs during her time in the band to cope with the overwhelming pressures of fame.

Despite temporarily kicking her addiction after marrying Westlife star Brian McFadden in 2002 and having their two daughters, Molly, now 22, and Lilly-Sue, 20, she started using again following their 2004 divorce, which led to a nervous breakdown.

But after her brush with death, the star checked into rehab in Arizona in 2009 and has been clean ever since – publicly speaking out about the dangers of cocaine.

It was a suspected overdose which in 2019 tragically killed her ex-husband, George Kay, 39 – father of her nine-year-old daughter, Dylan-Jorge.

In August, Kerry – who also shares daughter Heidi, 14, and son Maxwell, 15, with her second husband Mark Croft – revealed her plans to elope to Las Vegas for an intimate wedding with fiancé Ryan Mahoney, 34, following a three-year engagement.

But insiders say the star is determined to have her nose fixed before they marry – further postponing their big day, which has left personal trainer Ryan feeling some frustration.

The source adds, “Ryan is really keen to marry Kerry, so he dreads any obstacle that could set their plans back. Kerry’s explained that she just wants to look and feel her very best when she walks down that aisle with him. This is her fourth wedding but she’s adamant it’s her last and that she wants to look and feel absolutely on top of the world for this.

She understands his frustration, but she urged him to understand how important it is for her to do this before they wed.

“Ryan’s fully supportive – he’s so proud of Kerry for how far she’s come. He can’t wait for her to become Mrs Mahoney so they can start their married life together.”
