Kerry Katona has revealed her children begged her to leave her estranged husband George Kay.
The Atomic Kitten singer confirmed she and George had split last month and she has now told how her teenage daughters, Molly, 15, and Lilly-Sue, 14, encouraged her to go her own way.
Reality star Kerry told the Sunday People: “I feel like the worst mother in the world and I will never forgive myself.
“No child should have to hear what they heard or see what they saw.
“I said to the girls, ‘I’m so sorry I’ve let this go on for so long.’”
Pop warbler Kerry claims George tried to get her to end some friendships, used bad language around her and ended up “spitting in her face” a number of times.
Kerry said: “He had so much power over me, but I can’t let my children go back to that, even if I could.”
Kerry wanted to show her children that it is “not acceptable” to be in a relationship like that.
But George seems to disagree with Kerry, tweeting: “Fabricated stories made up as a smoke screen to hide the truth!”
Kerry and George first split in 2015 amid claims of abuse but they renewed their vows in November last year and spoke of their plans of trying for another baby.
