Kerry Katona has sat on the sofa with Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby in a bid to clear her name against the most recent round of allegations thrown at her.

Critics hit at the former Atomic Kitten singer, claiming she’s ‘gone off the rails’ once more. The claims came after footage of Kerry in the airport with her trousers down went public earlier this month.

But the defiant 35 year old set the record straight to fans, viewers and critics. She insisted:

“To be honest, I feel like I don’t have to explain or say sorry to anybody. I was just being a typical Brit on holiday.”

However, she did proceed to shed a little light on the scenario:

“I went away for a few days, the first time without my children, we’ve had a bit of a rough year.”

The last 12 months has seen the TV personality go through a break up once again, as she filed for divorce from husband George Kay.

She has also spent recent months in a court battle with Kay over allegations he attacked her with a Taser.

Kerry continued to unravel the situation to Holly and Philip:

“I was on the plane, we got up at four in the morning, we had no food, and I hit the champagne as one does on holiday… and as soon as the fresh air hit me - I was just desperate to get a suntan!”

A desire for champs and sun? Yup, we can all relate to that feeling…

And the mum of five pointed to what the footage DIDN’T show people. She said:

“What you can’t see [on the footage] there were so many other people in bikini tops… and I do look at it and think ‘Oh God, Kerry - you fool.’

“This isn’t something I do all the time, I got too drunk and I’m all or nothing.”

Speaking of the holiday incident and the snaps of her leaving a nightclub earlier this week that left people concerned over her ‘partying’ she said:

“I don’t go out all the time. I have no childcare, I have five children, I’m doing this on my own…. And my children weren’t with me and I don’t feel like I’ve done anything wrong.

“I’m not back on drugs, I’m still clean… I let my hair down. I’ve had a really tough year.

“People do worry…. I’ve got really loyal fans, and clearly everyone thought ‘oh here we go again’.”

Finally on the matter, she insisted:

“I am embarrassed and mortified by it, but I got too drunk, nobody was hurt. The only thing that was hurt was my pride.”

Kerry also opened up about her relationship status, saying how she is still single after her split with George earlier this year.
