Fans have always admired her candid confessions about her ongoing weight and health battles over the years, and last week, Kerry Katona posted a video during which she revealed she’s put on 3st.
Despite admitting that she’ll be with fiancé Ryan Mahoney until “the day I die”, Kerry, 42, admitted that she’s refusing to marry while feeling insecure over her new curves.
“I’m not walking down the aisle looking like this, bleeding hell!” Kerry told fans, confiding in them that she’s put on weight after ditching her smoking habit three years ago.
Kerry added, “I’m tripping over all of my body parts. Once you get to 40, that’s it. Everything drops, your face, your t**s, your knees…”
Kerry, who jokingly told Closer last month that she’d put on weight to help with rocketing heating costs also admitted, “I’m definitely chasing my youth, but I’m 42, I’m allowed to. I want to look my best.”
And now a source reveals that, after months of speculation over when she’ll tie the knot with Ryan,33, Kerry’s put their plans on hold until she feels and looks her best.
The insider says, “Kerry’s adamant that she won’t walk down the aisle until she’s a size 10-12 again and has vowed to do whatever it takes to get her body back.”
The former singer-turned-reality star and actress – who has previously been bankrupt twice, but has now become a millionaire again after launching her OnlyFans page in 2021 – has caused controversy in the past with her surgery and drastic dieting, which has seen her yo-yo from a size 6 to a size 16.
The mum-of-five came under heavy scrutiny when she promoted the use of the controversial Skinny Jab injections on social media, and Kerry admitted in October last year that, after undergoing years of cosmetic surgery, her body resembles an “Ikea flat pack”.
After having her first boob job nearly 20 years ago in 2004, Kerry went on to have a £15,000 body overhaul after giving birth to her son Max in 2008.
She’s also undergone a tummy tuck and a bum lift, as well as Botox and liposuction.
Kerry revealed she was set to undergo corrective surgery this month after a botched tummy tuck last year, and admitted she would be having an eye-lift at the same time.
However, while she awaits a date to go under the knife once again, the insider says Kerry is throwing herself into a disciplined but sensible diet plan, and that PT Ryan, who Kerry met on a dating app in 2018, is helping.
The source says, “Ryan has devised an exercise plan for her that fits with her routine as well as making it fun with some new HITT routines and dance cardio.
“She’ll be doing yoga at 5am to tone up and has hired a nutritionist to advise her on foods that will fill her up and curb cravings naturally.
“She’s going to be eating around 1,500 calories a day with lots of fresh fruit and veg, protein and healthy fats.”
And after three previous weddings, the singer is determined her fourth wedding will be much more low-key.
Kerry was married to Brian McFadden, with whom she shares daughters Molly, 21, and Lilly-Sue, 19, in 2002, followed by cab driver Mark Croft, who is dad to Heidi, 15, and Max, 14, from 2007 to 2011, and the late George Kay from 2014 to 2017, who is the father to her youngest daughter, Dylan-Jorge, eight.
She recently told Closer, “Ryan thinks marriage is overrated, so we always said we’d do it in Vegas. There’ll be no bridesmaids and I’ll walk myself down the aisle”.
But her pared-back wedding hasn’t stopped Kerry wanting to look every part the blushing bride.
She added during a video filmed in the gym at her home in Cheshire last week, “The only way I’m going to take any control of this, is me – I’ve got to do this. I’m not obese, but this is not my body, it doesn’t belong to me. I know I can do this”.
