A source close to the Atomic Kitten singer revealed to a UK newspaper that she almost died during the difficult birth.

When Kerry, 33, went into labour, it was discovered she was suffering from pre-eclampsia. The condition can cause all sorts of problems with vital organs, strokes and even death.

The source said: “The birth didn’t go smoothly at all. Kerry had pre-eclampsia and her legs and feet swelled up. The condition can be fatal for both mums and babies but thankfully Kerry’s baby was fine. It was Kerry who was in danger.”

According to the insider, Kerry had to be kept in for four days after the birth. She is now recovering at home and being taken care of by fiancé George Kay.

“George was there throughout and is now being more protective than ever of Kerry. He was terrified but had to stay strong for her – he thought he was going to lose her.”

While Kerry and George are yet to reveal the name of their baby girl, their first child together, it has been reported that they called her Jorgie.

Kerry is reportedly about to start filming for a new reality show

Now Kerry is allegedly gearing up for a new reality TV show which she hope will show that she’s turned her life around and will also help her to sort out her finances.

The source added: “At first she had reservations about having cameras on her round the clock. It took her back to when she did her MTV show with Mark Croft.

“Some of the memories weren’t pleasant but now she sees it as a great opportunity. She is also hoping it will bring in lucrative endorsements.”
