“I would never want to lose too much weight. I love having curves and a bum. Men like something to hold on to!” says the former Destiny’s Child singer, who’s single.

At 5ft 7, Kelly currently weighs around 9st 10lbs, and says that her weight fluctuates between 9st 3lbs and 10st.

“I’m nearer the top end of my weight range at the moment, though I was heavier when I went to the Grammy’s a few years ago, but everything is in the right place! I’m working the long, lean look!” says the 29-year-old.

“I’m around a UK clothes size 8, but sometimes a 10 or even 12 in bottoms depending on where I shop. But I never worry about it,” she adds.

Kelly credits her slim and toned figure to her “amazing” new personal trainer, Jeanette Jenkins, who devised a diet and fitness plan for her earlier this year.

“Jeanette worked out what I should eat and how much water I needed to drink and everything. The programme worked so quickly for me and made me feel so good,” says Kelly, who’s just released her new single Commander.

Kelly tries to eat as “cleanly” as possible whether she’s at home or on the road.

She has either a bowl of porridge or cereal with blueberries for breakfast, and wholewheat pasta with crab and fresh tomato sauce for lunch. She snacks on toasted pumpkin seeds, and a typical dinner is fish with vegetables.

Kelly reveals: “I know what works for my body now and what doesn’t. I’ve never done crazy diets because you just put the weight back on straight away. Your body needs food! You just have to exercise and eat right. That’s the only thing that really works.”

As well as her new diet, Kelly follows a strict fitness regime.

“I have friends who are supermodels and have cellulite. What woman doesn’t though?” she says.

“I practise yoga, which really helps me to tone up everywhere, as well as relax and de-stress me. I also go to the gym to do some cardio a couple of times a week. I particularly like the bike and the cross-trainer,” she says

Kelly’s regular workouts and normally healthy diet means that she can treat herself every now and again – “I do still spoil myself sometimes,” she says – and she happily tucks into mini Snickers bars and a couple of cookies during our interview.

“I love going for corny American food like burgers, fries and hot dogs. I can eat a burger in four minutes flat!” she laughs.

Even though the star was recently pictured looking incredible in her bikini on the beach in her hometown of Miami, she admits that she does suffer from two of women’s biggest curses – cellulite and stretch marks.

“I have a nice amount of both! What woman doesn’t though?” she says. “I have friends who are supermodels and have cellulite. I worry about showing it on the beach so that’s why I do lunges to keep my butt in shape. If you’re in shape, you don’t notice these things as much.”
