They fell in love in 2014 when she slid into his DMs, but this year the whole world fell in love with model Kelly Brook and her hubby Jeremy Parisi after they competed in the second celebrity series of Race Across The World, where they finished in fourth place. The gruelling experience even inspired the pair – who have been married for two years – to run the London Marathon next year as Radox ambassadors. They sat down with Closer to discuss their next adventure, how they stay so fit and how Race Across The World strengthened their bond…
How are you getting on with training for the marathon?
K: We are definitely on different pages of the training at the moment. We have embarked on this adventure together, but Jeremy wants to start full-on training now. He’s got a seven-month training regime that he wants to follow. So, we're going to try to meet somewhere in the middle here!
Do you both like to keep active?
K: We’ve got a Peloton bike at home and we’ve been on many runs together. We love to keep fit. It's kind of how we met. When we first started chatting, I messaged Jeremy because I could see he was a judo fighter, and I’d started doing some martial arts. I said, ‘My legs are aching, what can I do?’ And he was giving me lots of advice on recovery, like hot baths and what supplements to take. So it's our love language, really; that's how we started connecting. And we live in Hampstead, so we've got so many beautiful places to go and train.
J: So we don’t have any excuse!
What’s a typical date night for you?
J: We love to cook together, so a romantic movie and a nice romantic dinner at home.
K: Sundays are our romantic day. We take the dog out for a walk, go to the pub and have a roast, or we'll go to the butcher and get a nice joint of meat, and then I lock myself in the kitchen and cook all day.
J: At the weekend she loves to cook a Sunday roast.
K: He cooks every night, and I'm the one that does it all at the weekends. We both love to cook. We like to feel good and be healthy. Cooking our own food and eating well is such a massive part of our lifestyle. We like to be the best version of ourselves. We're not into going out too much or drinking too much.
J: It takes a lot of discipline to be healthy.
K: And we’ve got a little dog that wants to be out walking every day, so you don't want to be getting up with a hangover. You just want to be up and out the door.
J: We wake up early every day together.
K: We’re machines!
Did you notice you had lots of new fans after Race Across The World?
K: It's been extraordinary, we go to the shopping centre and he gets mobbed by women. They elbow me out the way. They're like, ‘Jeremy!’ It’s so funny.
Does that make you feel a bit jealous?
K: I love it! It’s so funny to me, because I know that he’s shy, so it's not like he hates it, but he’s so shy to have that much attention.
Did Race Across The World strengthen your relationship?
J: When you do the show, you’re just together. So of course, you come back happy, closer, with no regrets. It was an amazing experience.
K: And we’re really different people. I'm more tactical, Jeremy's more competitive and explosive. I’m like, ‘Slow down a bit. Let's think about this.’ I'm always trying to figure out how to do less work and still get the job done.
J: She was amazing. Sometimes I need to take the time to think where to go, but she's amazing for the tactics.
Do you feel like it changed people’s perceptions of you?
K: I don't get hung up on people's perceptions because I've been around for so long and had so many different chapters of my life. Probably just being comfortable in my own skin. I approached Race with my make-up off, just getting stuck in. And then as the show went on, it became harder and we felt like people were against us, or sabotaging us, I started actually putting make-up on and I needed it to make myself feel better and feel stronger. It was really weird, because I started out the show looking like hell on earth, and actually by the end, I looked all right!
Kelly and Jeremy will be running the 2025 TCS London Marathon with Radox on Sunday 27th April. As part of their ambassadorship, the couple will be giving away a pair of places to the London Marathon to inspire others to join the challenge and Feel Radox Ready. A link to the competition will go live on the couple’s social media pages on Tuesday 19th November.
