Former boxing promoter Kellie Maloney has told This Morning that she feels ‘amazing’ after undergoing a dramatic makeover on the topical day time show.
Before getting some TLC from the This Morning style and beauty team, Kellie, 62, appeared sat down for a chat with show hosts Ruth Langsford and Eamonn Holmes.
Kellie’s daughter Emma sat with her throughout the discussion about transitioning from male to female.
Emma explained: "I think Kellie is still on a journey with the look… she gets it right a lot of the time but there’s still a few occasions when one of us has to step in and maybe alter the clothing choice or something - she has a much younger style!”
Kellie’s daughter worried about her father’s transformation and how she would cope, especially when she entered the Big Brother house last year.
"I was just worried about Dad's state of mind really. I didn't know if she'd be strong enough to cope.
"I've always watched Big Brother so I was quite aware of what they do and how it works and Kellie had never really seen it previously... so I was just worried."
Kellie stepped in an explained that her time on Big Brother came at a pivotal time in her transition.
“When I went in there I was sort of in between finding myself and losing my old self… so there was still a lot of the old Frank in there and it did come out a couple of times unfortunately to start with."
Audiences were then stunned when she underwent her dramatic makeover, appearing unrecognisable in a glamorous dress and new hair do.
Twitter went wild with Kellie’s new image, with one viewer writing: “You looked stunning on your @itvthismorning makeover! You looked more women than some women born as women!”
Another typed: “So brave given all the circumstances.”
