Keira Knightley’s director John Carney is NOT nice about her acting

So this is what it's like to work with Keira on set, apparently

You never actually know what goes on behind the scenes of major movies, but John Carney, the director of Keira Knightley's latest, has done an interview with The Independent and pretty much slammed her. We feel a bit sorry for Keira actually, as a lot of what he's saying isn't necessarily her fault.

'I didn't enjoy that experience of paparazzi and fabulous openings,' said. 'The movie star world is not something that ever appealed to me. I like working with actors and I wanted to come back to what I knew and enjoy film-making again.'

'Keira's thing is to hide who you are and I don't think you can be an actor and do that. I like to work with curious, proper film actors as opposed to movie stars.'

Oh burn. BURN. And they kept coming.

'I don't want to rubbish Keira, but you know it's hard being a film actor and it requires a certain level of honesty and self-analysis that I don't think she's ready for yet and I certainly don’t think she was ready for on that film,' he said while going on to be really mean about her singing skills.

'As much as I tried to make it work I think that she didn't quite come out as a guitar-playing singer-songwriter. I learned that I'll never make a film with supermodels again.'

Snidely referring to Keira, who has always been known for her acting rather than her modelling, as a 'supermodel' is probably the burniest burn of them all.

Anyone else feel like, regardless of what the experience was like on set, this smacks of absolutely no professionalism on the part of John Carney? You don't go on Twitter and badmouth your work colleagues or you get fired - so why is this any different?
