Katie Price will have ‘therapy for life’ after chaotic ten years

Katie Price has revealed that she’s looking at therapy long term after a chaotic ten years lead to some bad decisions.

The mum of five recently returned to the limelight after taking a break from social media and work commitments to focus on her mental health.

Speaking on the new series of her TV show, Katie Price: My Crazy Life, she says, “I've been slowly going off the rails for just over 10 years.

"At times I've been a mess. I've been to hell and back, but I'm starting to feel like me again.

"Four weeks in hospital and some intense therapy that will continue for the rest of my life has got me back to being me.

"It just goes to show, if I can do it, anyone can.”

Katie has been on a downward spiral since her split from third husband Kieran Hayler in the summer of 2018 – the same year her mum Amy, who she has always described as her “rock”, was diagnosed with a terminal lung disease. The star resorted to self-medicating with wild partying, booze and – as she now admits – cocaine, over the following months.

She made her return to TV on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins but quit after just two days, blaming her most recent breast operation.

But she did admit to Closer that her personal life was affecting her during filming, saying, “I was going through a really bad place mentally when I did the show.

“Everything just got to me. The break-up with Kris, the bankruptcy stuff… The trigger point was me waking up and realising my dog had been run over and killed… It got to the point where I was going to kill myself. I had thoughts of how I was going to do it.”
