At’s almost a year since she first made the heartbreaking discovery that her toyboy husband Kieran Hayler had been cheating on her with her best friend Jane Pountney.
But although Jordan and Kieran’s relationship seemed to be back on track as they soaked up the rays on their second honeymoon in Europe last week – with kids Harvey, 11, 19-month-old Jett and seven-month-old Bunny – pals say there’s still tension between the pair, as model Jordan, real name Katie Price, continues to struggle with trust issues.
A source reveals: “Katie and Kieran had a lovely time on their honeymoon, but there was underlying tension. On the one hand, Katie feels they are now a strong family unit, but on the other she’s scared of giving Kieran more freedom and still wants to keep tabs on him. Katie still doesn’t trust him – she lives in fear there will be another Jane.”
The source adds: “At one point during their holiday, the issue of Katie keeping watch over Kieran turned into a heated discussion. Kieran believes he’s proved to her how much he loves her and wants a bit more freedom. He feels she needs to trust him more.”
The 36-year-old star – whose other children, Junior, nine, and Princess, seven, were on holiday with their dad, Peter Andre – sent Twitter into meltdown last May when she sensationally revealed Kieran, 28, had been having a seven-month affair with Jane, 50 – who was a bridesmaid at their 2013 wedding.
But when he underwent therapy for sex addiction, Jordan forgave Kieran and the pair renewed their vows in February – although she admitted at the time: “I’ll never forgive him and I’ll never forget.”
And pals say Katie still can’t relax unless she has total control over Kieran – who quit his plastering and stripping jobs to spend more time looking after their children.
A pal adds: “Kieran still isn’t allowed to have passwords on his phone or computer. He also has to check in with Katie before leaving the house so she knows where he’s going.
“Kieran also used to be a gym fanatic, but isn’t allowed to train like he used to as Katie worries any kind of obsession with his looks could feed his sex addiction. She worries Kieran will never be fully cured and might have to stay in therapy.”
Katie’s pal, former X Factor winner Sam Bailey – who was a guest at the couple’s recent wedding party – reveals in an interview with Closer this week that Jordan is still struggling with the aftermath of her husband’s cheating, telling us: “Katie panics if she sees Kieran hanging around any women. She’s scared he’s going to run off with them.”
And sources close to Jordan confirm that despite trying her best to rebuild a happy life with Kieran, she is going to extreme lengths to ensure history does not repeat itself.
A pal reveals: “Katie and Kieran are getting on really well at the moment and she’s been letting go of her grip a little. But Kieran is yet to go out with his old pals on his own – she’s not prepared to lift that ban. Some of her family are concerned that problems are still being swept under the carpet and this kind of controlled marriage is impossible to sustain.
“Although she knows she has to let him have more freedom at some point, Katie is in no rush to do so – she’s still so scared of losing him.”
