Katie Price took to Instagram this afternoon to gush over her first-born Harvey – and took a swipe at his dad in the process.
Harvey, 13, is the son of former footballer Dwight Yorke, following his brief relationship with 37-year-old Katie in 2001.
Former glamour model Katie has claimed in the past Dwight, 44, has refused to get to know their son, and she insisted today he’s missing out.
Alongside some adorable snaps of her and Harvey, Katie wrote: “Harvey so looks like Dwight Yorke here shame he doesn’t want to see him.”
Next to one of her with Harvey as a baby, Katie added: “First and last time he watch Dwight Yorke play football.”
But Katie made it clear Harvey – who has Prader-Willi syndrome, which causes him to suffer from a number of serious problems – isn’t missing out.
She gushed: “A bond that will never be broken #lovefamily [sic].”
Katie has spoken in the past about trying to arrange for Dwight to have contact with Harvey.
Writing in her 2013 autobiography Love, Lipstick & Lies, Katie recalled a meeting with the sports star.
She wrote: “Dwight’s attitude made me really angry. ‘I’m sitting here because you have a son… a son you could get on with and who you could see at weekends. Are you interested?’
“‘I’ll have to think about it,’ was the reply. ‘And if I do decide to see him it will be on my terms, not yours or your mum’s. And I only want to deal with you’.”
Katie added: “Dwight gave me such a hard time that I felt like standing up and saying, ‘F*ck you!’ Why was he being like this? It was his son we were talking about! I suppose I should have been used to it, as he had hardly been involved in Harvey’s life to date, but I still felt hurt for my son.”
Mum-of-five Katie claims Dwight has never made another attempt to have a regular relationship with their son, despite her efforts.
She said: “The door is always open to Dwight and his family, so long as they realise that it would have to be a regular commitment, not simply random visits when it suited them. It wouldn’t be fair on Harvey to settle for anything less. Dwight should try. He would get so much love in return.”
