So it comes as no surprise, then, that it is a cause very close to Katie Price's heart.
Last year, Katie's eldest son Harvey, who suffers from autism and septo-optic dysplasia, was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder and Oppositional Defiance Disorder.
Without regular medication he would die.
And so, on Jeans For Genes Day, Katie has been encouraging people to donate the charity to "help children like my Harvey".
Katie, who recently welcomed baby daughter Bunny Hayler to the world, shared the intimate pictures of Harvey on YouGossip.co.uk, which raises money for charity.
Speaking candidly about motherhood last year, Katie explained Harvey can dominate family life, which is hard on her children Junior and Princess, but appreciates most families with a disabled child will experience these struggles.

But the mother-of-five - she also shares young son Jett Riviera with husband Kieran Hyler - is pleased with the progress Harvey is making and thinks he is becoming more independent.
Harvey might not have his biological dad - or Katie's ex husband Peter Andre - in his life anymore but his mum is keen to give him the best possible start in life.
