A UK newspaper has stated that Katie was terrified when she thought her waters had broken early.
She ended up being rushed to the nearest hospital where she struggled to communicate due to the language barrier.
Fortunately, she managed to hold of her London gynecologist who was able to explain what was happening.
It is said that her amniotic sac has torn and that her unborn child is at risk of becoming infected by the transfer of bacteria.
The newspaper has reported that the mum of three is to remain in hospital as she could give birth within the next week.
A source told the publication: “Katie is now hooked up to drips and heart monitors in a country where she doesn't speak the language and doesn't know anyone.”
“She was told she had no choice but to stay, or risk her child's life. Of course, she stayed. The doctors have told her they are doing everything they can and the baby should be OK provided they can keep Katie stable, prevent infection and delay the labour.”
25-year-old husband Kieran remains by her side, whilst children Princess and Junior have returned to the UK to go on holiday with their father, Peter Andre.
Katie has already admitted that her current pregnancy has been her most difficult yet, telling readers of her newspaper column that she has gained more weight than when she carried previous children. The expecting mother has also suffered from anaemia and low platelets.
This will be the couple’s first child together after marrying on January 16th.
