Inside Katie Price's new animal cruelty scandal

'Animal-lover' Katie blasted for wearing a raccoon fur coat

She's always claimed to be a fervent animal lover, owning her own farmyard and talking in the past about being "shocked by the brutality" of bullfighting, and earlier this year adopting an Alsatian puppy that appeared in a clip on Loose Women.

But Katie Price found herself in the centre of yet another public backlash over animal cruelty last week – this time posting a picture of herself saying she was "cosy" while wearing a raccoon fur coat.

The coat – which costs £395 from label Popski London – is padded with duck down feathers and has a detachable fur trim which claims it's "100 percent racoon".

The picture sparked furious reaction from the public and the former model was branded "revolting" and "a total hypocrite", with one commentator saying: "Shocked you'd advertise this! It's still animal torture no matter how 'high-end' the fur."

Some defended the mum-of-five's right to choose whether she wears fur and a source said that "she'd never hurt an animal, and does loads for charity". However, others said they were unfollowing her, and that she was only encouraging "horrific animal abuse".

As two scandals emerge with celebrities close to her sons, Victoria Beckham is eager to safeguard her children

Victoria Beckham David Beckham British Fashion Awards

They're the image of a perfect family, with David and Victoria Beckham being careful to guide their offspring through life in the spotlight.

However, in the space of one week, former child star Justin Bieber – who shot to fame aged just 14 – hit the headlines last week for punching a fan, then hours later Brooklyn's good pal Rocco Ritchie, son of Madonna and Guy Ritchie, was arrested for possessing cannabis.

Sources reveal that Posh is concerned about the reality of her children becoming stars and what they could be exposed to.

A source says: "The Bieber and Rocco news has shaken Victoria up. She's keen to help the kids achieve their dreams, but is also very protective of them.

"It really puts her in turmoil she wants them to pursue their dreams but knows they will be subjected to the darker side of fame too."

While she's been in LA for 'secret meetings', Michelle Keegan has also been posting snaps of herself on social media enjoying her time in California.

This comes amid rumours that she and husband Mark Wright are set to quit their life in the UK.

And now insiders tell Closer how Michelle, 29, has hired a Hollywood agent to steer her US career and line-up a string of castings and auditions in her bid to crack the States with her fledging acting career.

A source says: "Michelle's ecstatic with how her meetings went in LA and she's been told by various casting directors and top film agents that she has a good chance of cracking Hollywood – something many other British soap stars have failed to do.

"She has fallen in love with the LA lifestyle, and can see herself settling there and turning her Hollywood dream into a reality."
