Katie Price did not join her fellow panellists Andrea McLean, Penny Lancaster and Jane Moore on the Loose Women panel today as planned, due to ill-health.

The mum-of-five was sent home to rest and Michelle Heaton, who was booked on the show as a guest, joined the panel to stand in for her friend.

Revealing the news on the show, Andrea McLean said: “You may have noticed there’s an empty chair, there’s only three of us on the panel today. Katie Price was supposed to be on the show today but she’s had a bit of a medical emergency this morning.

“She did come in - I have to say that woman is a trooper - she came into the morning meeting but she’s not very well.”

In a VT recorded earlier in the Loose Women green room, Katie, who was lying under a duvet, said: “I haven't been sick for about an hour now but I still feel sick and obviously both ends - it’s not nice.”

The medic checking Katie’s blood pressure said: “Your blood pressure is a bit on the low side.

“I’d recommend you probably didn’t [go on], probably go and rest and have fluids - that’d be the best advice, not to sit under hot lights and carry on.”

Katie added: “Don’t miss my banter too much.”

Back to the panel, Andrea continued: “We made an executive decision that we would get a replacement for her so obviously Katie’s gone back to bed, we needed someone to come in and who better than one of her good friends, who was actually due to be a guest on the show today anyway.

"So standing in for Katie Price and saving the day for Loose Women please welcome Michelle Heaton.”

Taking a seat on the panel, Michelle joked: “I actually fed Katie her sushi so I could be here! Thanks Kate!”

Poor Katie Price - we hope she gets better soon!
