Katie Price has revealed that her 14-year-old son could soon be facing yet another battle with his health, after claiming he is “close to getting diabetes”.

Harvey suffers from Prader-Willi syndrome, which causes numerous health problems including an insatiable appetite.

“He's 14, he weighs 18 stone,” Katie explained during Loose Women. “He never knows when he's full up he'll do anything he can to feed himself. At the table you'd think he'd never eaten.

“He's that close to getting diabetes at the minute. He's still got a kid's heart it would be fatal if we don't watch him.”

But the mum-of-five revealed that son Junior, 11, is keen to emulate dad Peter Andre’s uber fit body from his nineties heyday.

“With my other children if I thought they got bigger I'd notice it,” she said. “Junior is obsessed with having a six pack... because his dad was famous for it."

The star – who is tipped to be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house for the second time this January – admits it can be a challenge when taking Harvey to the supermarket.

“We do have lots of food in our house, we're not health conscious,” she explained. “When I go food shopping, to get Harvey around he wants a blueberry muffin but they only sell them as a four so he has to walk around with four muffins.”

Meanwhile, the former glamour model also opened up on how Harvey – whose estranged father is footballer Dwight Yorke - sometimes feels left out when Junior and nine-year-old sister Princess visit their dad, Peter.

“It’s not nice for Harvey,” Katie said. “Junior and Princess go and see Pete but Harvey doesn’t, and Harvey is aware of it.

“I’d love him to go but he doesn’t go, and he’s always aware.

“Junior and Princess go and see daddy on Thursday and Fridays and whatever but there’s nothing you can do.

“Some people stick to things, some people don’t but it’s sad when it does affect kids when they’ve got step-dads.

“Not meaning that horribly – but it’s not nice for Harvey.”
