It's claimed the fire which left Katie's house with 'thousands of pounds' of smoke damage was reportedly caused by candles to mask the smell of her pets.
Katie Price and her family have been left reeling after a fire, originating from five-year-old Jett's bedroom, spread through the hallway and caused serious smoke damage to her West Sussex mansion.
Katie's step-dad Paul Price was on hand to put out the flames with an extinguisher and managed to contain the blaze before the fire brigade needed to be called.
Thankfully, no one was harmed in the fire but it's reported the repairs needed to repair the extensive smoke damage will cost a 'small fortune.'
It's now claimed that the fire was caused after Katie, who's reportedly facing bankruptcy, had bought cheap scented candles to save some money while also attempting to mask the smell of her cats.
"The fire started from her using candles to save on electricity," a source told The Sun.
They added: “She’d bought cheap scented candles for her house in a bid to save money on lights and mask the smell of animals - cat wee to be precise."
The source went on to suggest the fire had started when a spark flew out of a candle after causing a rug in Jett's room to catch alight. The damage is said to have de-valued Katie's house by around a quarter of a million.

News of the fire comes after one of Katie’s biggest scandals yet, when she became embroiled in a shocking drug drama.
Leaked footage showed the mum of five slumping to the floor after rapping “I love coke” during a wild hotel party with two men she met in a bar while on holiday in Majorca for a hen do last month.
Stills from the leaked video also showed Katie next to what appeared to be a bag of cocaine on a table top, a blue plate holding cocaine remnants and a narrow tube.
