In the wake of rumours suggesting that her husband Kieran Hayler once worked as a bisexual escort, Katie Price revealed on Loose Women that she has started adoption proceedings.

Insiders say Katie is determined to adopt another child to help create a stronger family bond between her and Kieran – but that she doesn't want to carry another baby herself.

A source says: "Katie's indulged in so much plastic surgery, she doesn't want to risk ruining her body again with another op. She thinks the perfect compromise would be to adopt another child.

"She knows how much Kieran loves spending time with all the kids and thinks it would only bring them closer together.

"Katie knows how hard Kieran has worked to turn his life around. She thinks people are starting up these rumours to destroy their marriage but she says it's not going to work. She knows he's sacrificed a lot to prove that he's 100 per cent dedicated to her."

Katie, who is also mum to Harvey, 14, Junior, 11, Princess, nine, Jett, three and Bunny, two, said: "I don't want any more (children) myself but I do want another.

"I want to give my body a rest, but I'm waiting to be interviewed by an adoption agency."

However, she implied on the programme that her husband Kieran was less than happy about her decision:

"Right now, he doesn't understand why I want to adopt because I can still have my own children. But I have eleven bedrooms in my house and they need to be filled."
