Katie Piper reveals struggle to find love: ‘I felt hot, sick and embarrassed’

Katie Piper, who has had over 100 operations to repair her face, is now happy with partner James and their daughter Belle Elizabeth.

But she has revealed in her new autobiography Beautiful Ever After that life wasn't always so happy.

She said: "Often I’d get chatting to a guy and he would seem interested in everything I said. I’d get excited, feeling sure we’d really connected.

"The next day I’d be gutted when a text message arrived asking me to open his village fete or draw the raffle ticket at his work Christmas do."

The mum-of-one also emotionally wrote about an incident when a man she was on a dinner date with left to "talk to some colleagues" and never came back.

She wrote: "I felt hot, sick and embarrassed all at the same time. I had to face the fact he’d left.

"Humiliation and nausea washed over me. My voice wobbled when I asked for the bill, my hands shook as I paid."

"The coward hadn’t even had the decency to leave money with the waiter."

We are so happy that Katie Piper has since found love with James and that the pair have made a family together.

Beautiful Ever After is released on September 10.
