The star has opened up about her young daughter starting to ask about her scars caused by acid attack burns

TV star Katie Piper has revealed during an interview with *Sunday People's Love Sunday *magazine that her eldest daughter, Belle, aged 3, has started to notice her mum's scars left after a horrific acid attack back in 2008.

She said: "She mainly asks about my hands. I just tell her I was burnt when I was younger - it did hurt, but it doesn't now."

Katie continued; "All she really says is, ‘Be careful of your other hand’ when I’m near the oven. But if she asks how I was burnt, I’ll tell her the truth."

The star was tragically attacked with acid by an accomplice of a man she was dating back in 2008, named Danny Lynch.

She was left severely scarred on her hands, neck, arm, chest and face, as well as partially blinded.

Katie is now happily married to husband Richard Sutton, with whom she shares two daughters - Belle, 3 and Penelope Diane, three months.

She has bravely undergone almost 300 surgical procedures on her wounds since the awful attack.

Back in 2009, just after her attack, Katie agreed to let Channel 4 film a documentary following her recovery to raise awareness of the struggles that burns victims face.

She is now the director of her own charity, The Katie Piper Foundation, through which she does incredible work for burns sufferers all over the country.
