Staggering school term dates and giving heads more say on letting children go on holiday before term ends was suggested by MPs last night in a debate on the soaring cost of holidays.
The debate was prompted by an e-petition calling for action to stop holiday companies “cashing in” by ramping up prices during the school holidays.
And now Katie Hopkins has had her say, poking fun at parents everywhere for being outraged over holiday prices and advising them to try "two weeks in Bognor".

Writing in her column for The Sun, she said: "Why the surprise? Any parent knows that a family holiday is expensive. Having kids is like having an Aston Martin — without admiring glances from other men or the ability to leave them in a garage overnight.
She also slammed Paul Cookson, a father in Devon whose rant on school holiday prices recently came to the attention of the press:
"Mr Cookson says parents are being penalised for sticking to the rules. Schools shouldn’t need rules for adults, Mr Cookson.
"You are a parent. Schools require you take responsibility."
She added: "My advice is to quit complaining and vote with your feet — don’t follow the crowd.
"Seek out a small British business that would welcome your booking at a reasonable price.
"Two weeks in Bognor may not appeal but you will have plenty of spare time sitting in your caravan in the rain to write to the head asking for staggered holidays instead of signing useless petitions and ranting about simple economics on Facebook."
