Speaking on her TLC show If Katie Hopkins Ruled The World, Katie Hopkins took aim once again at mothers on benefits - insisting that they should not be allowed to have more than one chid until they can support themselves.
The 40-year-old said: “I’m not a big fan of benefits, and I believe as a taxpayer I don't want to fund anyone else’s lifestyle.
“I don't want to pay for your houses, but the one thing I don’t particularly want to pay for is children.
“I really feel if you're on benefits you shouldn't have children, or if you must have one then it's just one.”
Katie, who has three children of her own with husband Mark Cross, added: “I know loads of people who work really hard, who'd love more children, but don’t have them because of the accountability of knowing they can’t afford them.
“It just seems to me there are lots of families who have loads of kids and don’t even worry about whether they can afford them or not.”
However Katie’s assault on mothers did not stop there, as she also slammed those who accept pain relief during childbirth.
She, much to the dismay of her audience members, said: “I really believe - I've got three children, they are 11, ten, and six - if you give birth naturally then you are a stronger, more powerful woman.”
“What I see is a lot of women, you know, second or third contraction, screaming for the epidural, and you've got to say, ‘no, it's gonna hurt, you've got to man up, grip it, and take the pain’, and if you take the pain, and if you take the pain and give birth vaginally… then you are more of a woman.”
And, after being criticised by Kirstie Allsopp about her new ‘rule’ for women (the Location! Location! Location! presenter insisted that women shouldn’t be made to feel like failures), Katie made sure to target her individually.
Cattily referring to one of Kirstie’s old interviews, she said: “Allsopp makes the rules on all mothering doesn't she, she says you should have a baby twenty-three, you should be married by twenty-one, suddenly she failed at something and it's ok if you have a C-section.”
The government's latest figures show that, in England, the caesarean rate has increased by 0.7 per cent to 26.2 per cent (166,081) in 2013-14.
These statistics, taken from NHS maternity services, show a noticeable rise in the number of elective caesareans - as well as highlight the fact that emergency caesarean rates are down 1.8 per cent.
