Katie Hopkins has honed in on fat children as the latest group who need whipping into shape. Quite literally, according to her.

The My Fat Story star, who gained 4 stone in order to prove losing weight is easy, has declared that ‘the most upsetting thing of all is a fat child’ and that watching parents with their fat kids makes her incredibly angry.

In classic Hopkins fashion, she has dealt out her prescription for dealing with the issue. And the treatment? Sending any overweight child to a separate institution where they can sweat off the pounds.

‘Any child bursting out of their shorts would be sent to special sports schools until they made the grade,’ wrote Hopkins in her latest UK magazine column.

‘Parents are to blame,’ she continued. ‘But while we’d be outraged if they were giving their children killers like cigarettes and alcohol, we daren’t tell them their kid’s obese for fear of causing offence.’

Finishing off her column, Katie encourages Brits to 'eat less, move more' - her weight loss mantra. She also tells readers to sign up to her Fat Club 30 Day Challenge - a free service that aims to help the British public fight the flab.

Week one's adice is to exercise during ad breaks rather than sit around 'eating crisps.' We're interested to see how this one pans out.

What do you think of Katie’s comments? Are we too soft on parents who let their children gain weight? And do you think it’s as bad as giving them cigarettes or alcohol?
