The 40-year-old suffers from severe epilepsy and has made the decision to have an operation that could cure the disorder – but there's also a chance it may kill her.

Speaking to The Sun, mum-of-three Katie said: "I have decided I'm having the surgery this year. They take some of your head off and then when wake you up and talk to you and get you to move your arm and leg as they remove part of your brain.

"The part they need to take out for me is in deep. This is the fear, it makes me sweat just thinking about it. There's a 40 per cent chance I could get rid of it altogether. But there's a 20 per cent chance I would lose my left arm or leg – I could end up paralysed. There's also a one per cent chance I will die."

Former Celebrity Big Brother star Katie has had to face the heartbreaking realisation that she could leave her children without a mother.

Katie is mum to India, 11, Poppy, 10, and six-year-old Maximillian – making the decision to have the operation even harder.

She added: "If I don't make it, is that the right age to leave them?"

Although she's made a name for herself judging parents and their children, Katie also made the shocking revelation that she was offered a late termination for one of her daughters, who is severely autistic.

"When I was eight months pregnant I was offered a late-term termination because something was wrong. I decided to carry on because having a termination then means you have to give birth," she said.

"I wasn't brave enough. I just didn't have the courage to have one."
