Teachers have decided to take strike action over pay, pensions and working conditions, meaning that many parents have had to make alternative childcare arrangements.

Katie took to Twitter, writing: ‘Teachers on strike. Know this. We don't blame the government. We blame you. You wanted to be a teacher. Get on with it.’

She continued on her tirade: ‘Teachers, you say you don't do the job for pay, you do it because you love it. Go ahead and prove it.’

Katie accused the teachers of setting a negative example to their young students.

‘Those who can - do. Those who can't - don't. Those that couldn't give a damn about your sons or daughters – strike,’ she wrote.

Katie then added: ‘Teachers on strike - teaching children if you don't like something, throw a strop and walk out. This is not good lesson planning.’

Everyone’s favourite rent-a-gob went on to suggest that strike action in itself is something children should be advised against ever participating in.

‘Children should not be learning strikes are cool. Kids should learn striking is mob mentality of the intellectually retarded.’

Not stopping there, Katie suggested that the teacher’s strike action is unfounded, commenting that teachers ‘wouldn’t last 2 mins in the private sector,’ before adding: ‘That’s why you are in a classroom.’

Many of Katie’s followers argued against her comments, but some agreed with her.

One parent tweeted Katie saying: ‘My daughters teacher told me to "enjoy my lay-in and day off" in the most sarcastic voice possible. I told her I WORK.’

The National Union of Teachers says that they’re taking strike action as a ‘last resort,’ and many schools remain closed due to the walk out.
