According to an X Factor insider, some of the Stereo Kicks' mums were quick to jump to their boys' defences.

"One of them asked how she'd like it if people abused her children."

Unlike Katie, she allegedly lost her cool and was quick to flee the studio. The source continued: "Katie was rattled – and in the end security and her own chaperone sneaked her out the back."
