Despite ‘stealing’ current husband Mark Cross, 40-year-old Katie Hopkins has revealed how she ‘could have killed’ her ex husband Damian McKinney after he left her for his mistress.
Father to her two daughters, Katie was left holding the babies when he walked out on her.
She explained to The Times: "The day after I had Poppy, I got a taxi home from the hospital and Damian had already gone away with his new partner.”
Katie continued: "I had a brand new baby, another daughter under the age of one and I also worked for the company he owned. At the time I could have killed something - myself, him, someone.”
Despite her heartbreak, the former Apprentice star insists that she blamed herself for her husband’s cheating.
"When your husband goes AWOL, the real mug is staring back at you in the mirror. It takes two to fall apart - it's just that one didn't know it was happening.
"So take a good look at yourself. You probably nag too much or carry an extra 3st (those PJs aren't helping). In my first affair with a married man, I offered him the opposite of the life he had with his wife.
"I was young, carefree, childless and spontaneous. I didn’t want to talk about the mortgage, the gas bills or the dry rot in the loft. I just wanted to have fun.”
