Comedian Daniel O’Reilly has said Dapper Laughs ‘is dead’ after a massive backlash over controversial rape jokes he made as the character.

70,000 people signed petition to cancel his ITV show, after footage emerged of him telling a woman she was ‘gagging for a rape.’

O’Reilly later tried to explain that he doesn’t advocate sexual violence and feels like people should appreciate he was just in character when he said those things.

Daniel has now had his ITV2 show axed and his UK tour cancelled.

‘It has completely ruined everything for me as a comedian’ the star told BBC’s Newsnight.
