Katie Hopkins: ‘Children’s summer holidays are too long – it’s only teachers who think they’re such a good idea’

Katie Hopkins has risked incurring the wrath of teachers everywhere, after she blamed them for the length of the school summer holidays.

Writing in her column for The Sun newspaper today, Katie bemoaned the six week school holidays, saying they're 'simply too long,' and that 'one four-week block with longer half-term holidays would be a far better solution.'

Katie's kids have the benefit of living in the countryside

Hopkins also added that she was better off in the countryside where her kids can enjoy playing outside, but mothers in the city may find the lengthy holidays more difficult.

'Cramped in a small flat in the city centre - six weeks with children much seem an eternity.'

She added: 'Working mums would find it easier to cover a shorter holiday and stay-at-home mums wouldn't notice a difference.'

Signing off, Katie said: 'I am guessing it is only teachers who think a six-week holiday is such a wonderful idea.'
