Baby Prince George and his parents – who are currently staying at the Middleton family home in Bucklebury, Berkshire - will move into Anmer Hall until renovations at Kensington Palace are finished.
The country home has been part of the royal estate since 1898 and was home to the Duke and Duchess of Kent between 1972 and 1990.
According to reports, a request to make some modifications to improve security and privacy at the country home at Sandringham were approved earlier this year.
It is thought a wood store is to be converted into a sitting room and lavatory, while part of the garage will be turned into an ‘equipment room,’ possibly for police protection officers.
Other changes include a garden room with a covered patio to be built on the side of the kitchen give the family more privacy, while extra trees and shrubs will be planted to keep the house and its royal occupants from public view.
Meanwhile, it has also been reported that a company director living in the main house will vacate the property in order to make way for William, Kate and George… nicknamed ‘Georgie’ by his royal grandfather.
He’ll be known as Georgie in no time
Prince Charles recently revealed the newborn heir to the throne will be known as ‘Georgie.’
The Prince of Wales told well-wishers earlier this week that he is ‘pleased as punch’ with his ‘wonderful’ first grandchild and debuted his affectionate nickname
‘He’ll be known as Georgie in no time,’ said Charles during his visit to Kent.
