Prince William and the Duchess of Cambridge of Kate Middleton are expecting their third child togewther

Congratulations are in order for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge William and Kate who are expecting their third child together.

Kensington Palace confirmed the news earlier today. It has also been reported that the Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum so she will not be carrying out her royal duties today. She is currently being cared for at Kensington Palace.

Confirming the exciting news on Twitter, Kensington Palace wrote: "Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their third child.

"The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news."

The went on to say: "As with her previous two pregnancies. The Duchess is suffering from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Her Royal Highness will no longer carry out her planned engagement at the Hornsey Road Children's Centre in London today.

"The Duchess is being cared for at Kensington Palace."

Recently there has been speculation that Kate and Will were expecting baby number three with bookies taking bets on whether there was going to be a new addition however they later pulled off the bets.

Bookmakers Coral said at the time: "This latest gamble suggests to us that Kate and William could be set to make an announcement soon that they are expecting a third child therefore we have pulled the plug on the market to allow the dust to settle.

"We have opened betting on the gender of the third child where boy is the favourite, while we have taken bets on Kate giving birth to twins and triplets."

The happy couple are already parents to Prince George, four and Princess Charlotte, two.

The news recently comes after the 20th anniversary of Princess Diana's death.
